For those of you that know Loren, he has been trying to get a badger for sometime now, well Friday June 13, 2009, He, Harold, and myself gopt a chance to go out to the sage and spend the day shooting whistlepigs. As the day wore on, I thought to myself that it was getting time for us to see a badger. I told Loren and Harold several time during the day that we had a great chance of running across a badger, and to keep their eyes open for one. About four thrity in the afternoon, we did run across one.
Harold got the first shot, wounding the badger, then Loren finsihed it off with his 223 Rem.
This was an old dry female, if you look at her teeth, he canines are worn down to nubs. But she sure had some diggers, about an inch and a half to two inches long.
